Browser concept
You don't drown.
You Drift.
Tabs multiply. Drift is a desk: ask in a sentence, related pages show up as a group, and the sidebar only lists the piles — not every page.
Call search
The bar isn’t glued to the desk. ⌘K when you want it.
⌘K01 · Ask
⌘K when you mean it.
Search doesn’t live in the chrome like a houseplant. Call it, ask for flights or dinner, and the desk stays empty until something earns a spot.
02 · Group
Same job,
same pile.
Fares for the trip. A PR for the sprint. Salmon for tonight. Drag the pile — it keeps its place on the desk like furniture.
03 · Index
Names left.
Pages right.
Peek from the left. Pin it if you want the rail sticky. Titles and counts only — open a page from the group itself, not from a favicon graveyard.
04 · Full
Desk full? Older groups wait it out.
They don’t turn into another tab strip. They stack in the corner like a sticky note. Click one when you want it back.
Why bother
01
Horizontal tabs shrink until titles die. Past a dozen or so you’re navigating by favicon guesswork — and the fare you meant to book is somewhere in that mush.
02
Drift puts related pages on a desk as one group. The rail stays a directory: names and counts. Open the page from the pile, not from a strip that only ever grows.
